A METHOD OF POWERMODE STARTING TIME OF IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

A method of setting a power saving access time of an image forming apparatus is described. A count (I) representative of the length of time during which no image is formed is determined and the power saving mode access time is set to a value (n') calculated from the quantity (I). The value n' may be calculated according to the following relationship: n' = n + r1 x äN - nü; N = C + r2 x I, where C is the minimum setup time; r1 is a first weighted value; r2 is a second weighted value; and n is the previously calculated value of n'.
