The present invention relates to a method for treating tumour growth, wherein said method comprises applying on said tumour an optical radiation such as a laser radiation. The first radiation application on the tumour is carried out at a dose of 50-100 joules/cm<2> and at a radiation power density ranging from 0.1 to 10 Watt/cm<2>. This method further comprises checking the size of the tumour and, if it is established that the size decreases, periodically repeating the application of the optical radiation until the maximal possible regression of said tumour is reached. In case the tumour size does not decrease after the first application of the optical radiation, the dose of said radiation is progressively increased until the tumour size decreases and the radiation application on the tumour is then repeated at the dose thus reached. |
