The windscreen wiper is rotated alternately by a driving shaft (12) which is guided in a bearing (10). The bearing comprises a principal body (16) with an axial bore (14) in which the shaft is rotation guided about the axis (A1). The bearing has device (28) for fixing it to the vehicle bodywork carried by an auxiliary body (34) articulated to the principal body. The centre of pivoting (C) of the ball joint (36) is a point in the driving shaft rotational axis located axially at mid height of the bearing principal body bore. The ball joint articulation comprises an inner core (38) in the shape of a spherical ring integral with the bearing principal body and an external annular ring (40) with an internal spherical surface (42) at the centre of which is mounted the inner core.
