The tool consists of two branches (1, 2) joined by a pivot (4) and fitted with a ring (3) which enables them to be clamped on the projecting tongue (6) of the rubber seal ring (7) between the jar (5) and lid. Once the tongue is clamped the tool is rotated to pull the tongue and release the seal, allowing the jar to be opened.
