The seat frame (A) is attached to the lower arm (1) of the mechanism and the seat back frame (B) is attached to the upper arm (2). One of the arms has an impressed cavity (22), with a series of teeth (22a) around the internal peripheral ring. A convex section (11) is formed on the other arm to fit into the cavity, with its outer surface sliding on the inner surface of the cavity. Guide grooves (12) are arranged between the two parts. A series of pawls (5), between the two arms, act with the toothed ring as a locking mechanism (4).
