The moulded clamp (12) is used in mutually reversed pairs. The base (23) has side skirts straddling the fixing channel (20), while a locating peg (24) passing (25) through the channel is secured by a spring clip (26). The base centre has a transversely grooved block (29), with chamfered entries (13) admitting the busbar plates (11). Semi-cylindrical guides moulded on either side of this block interlock with corresponding guides projecting from the paired clamp, which, inverted w.r.t. the first, and similarly mounted on another channel, grips the opposite edge(s) of the busbar. The two guides on each clamp are of different diameters, the smaller on one guide fitting into the larger on the other of the pair. Bolts (15), running through holes (21) in the fixing channel (20) and (14A,14B) in the clamp guides, are tightened (42) to grip the busbars securely. The variable interpenetration of the larger and smaller guides, extended by wells (39) in the bases, allows for a range of busbar widths (H1). The guides are opt. fully cylindrical and the bolts opt. secured by self-aligning captive nuts.
