The ring of thickness (h) and width (l) is contained within an interior diameter (Di) and an exterior diameter (De) and a reading diameter (Dl) situated in the middle of the width (l) over which are positioned one or several magnetic sensors which read the magnetic field emitted from the ring. The magnetisation is formed by two concentric interlinked North (N) and South (S) poles so that their widths (Lp) are equal and constant. The magnetic transitions between each of the two poles each follow a monotone displacement curve over a half width of the pole for a quarter of a turn of the ring, so that the magnetic field has a unique period corresponding to one turn of the ring.
