The prosthetic leg comprises an upper prosthetic limb member, a lower prosthetic limb member, an operating cylinder and a piston within the cylinder. The upper prosthetic limb member is connected to the piston. Also included is a flexible bladder within a bladder cylinder. The operating cylinder is separated from the bladder cylinder by a solid intermediate region. There is a valve arrangement providing communication and controlling a flow of fluid through the solid intermediate region between the bladder cylinder and the second operating chamber of the operating cylinder.
