This invention relates to a novel set of reticles that enable the user to avoid the parallax error of a scope without requiring mechanical adjustments. A main reticle (28) is placed at one of the focal planes of the scope. A secondary reticle (32) or reticles are placed in front of or behind the main reticle, but not at the focal plane. When the user's eye is on the optical axis (Z) of the scope, there is no parallax error and the image of the secondary reticles coincide with the image of the main reticle, or the images complement themselves. When the user's eye is not on the optical axis of the scope, there is a parallax error and the image of the secondary reticles will not coincide with the image of the main reticle, or the images will not complement themselves, and the user will see the primary reticle and the secondary reticle/s, or parts of them, or a broken reticles image. The reticles may have any desired pattern, may be illuminated by any well known in the art method, such as optical fiber, self illuminating substances, light source, or any other equivalent methods.
|
