<p>An optical fibre (3) is connected to an optical device (1) having a substrate (1) with locating means, such as a V-groove (7), forlocating the fibre (3) on the substrate (1). Attachment means (6) secure the optical fibre (3) at a position remote from the locating means (7) so that the fibre (3) is held in a state of elastic deformation to assist in holding the fibre (3) in contact with the locating means (7) without it being secured thereto.</p> |
