<p>The invention concerns an iron and an ironing method. The iron comprises a heating soleplate (2), a reservoir (15) designed to contain a textile adjuvant and a device for dispensing (11-13) the adjuvant. The iron comprises diluting means (7, 12, 14, 18) comprising an adjuvant-free water supply system (7), the diluting means being connected to the adjuvant reservoir and designed to produce a diluted adjuvant solution before dispensing.
