The invention relates to a method for producing liquid hydrocarbons or synthesis gas out of renewable raw or refuse materials whose consistency makes it especially suitable for subsequent combustion in internal combustion engines. The materials containing cellulose are reduced in size, impregnated with an inorganic alkali salt solution, and are brought to a heated delivery device.
