[Class 65 (ii)] A leaf or butt hinge of the type comprising two leaves pivotally associated by a pin and from one of which leaves there has been removed a portion which, or a similar piece, constitutes the other leaf has the first mentioned leaf so cut that there are formed tongues which enter through and project from slots provided for their reception in the same leaf to form a corner for the reception of the door or jamb. The leaf or butt hinge shown comprises a leaf a from which a part b has been removed to form the second leaf. The leaf a is formed with a pair of tongues a<x> which extend through slots a<xx> to' form a corner for the reception of the door or jamb. The leaf b may also be provided with tongues b<2> as described in Specifications 586,360 and 606,492. When the tongues are provided on the first leaf only, the hinge pin may be offset to accentuate the corner of the hinge opposite the tongues. |
