Cleaning of diecasting tools (2) or their parts (2a) takes place by means of ultrasound. Also claimed are a cast article produced by use of tools cleaned by the above method, an apparatus for implementation of the method, a vehicle component containing an above mentioned cast article, a motor vehicle with such a component, and a method for producing motor vehicles, in particular, automobiles.
