A device (13) for processing a molten mass (23) of plasticised plastics has at least one channel (22) for receiving the molten mass which extends from an inlet area (20) to an outlet area (21). The channel is delimited by inner walls (27) arranged in a central area and by outer walls opposite to the inner walls. At least one heat absorption device (39) is associated to the inner walls (27) of the channel (22) or channels for carrying away the heat from at least partial areas of the inner walls (27) to a predeterminable or adjustable extent. The heat absorption device enables a predeterminable temperature curve to be achieved at least in partial areas of an inner stream (29) of the molten mass (23) guided along the inner wall (27).
