PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an inexpensive super-thin rear projection type display device by which a projected picture is not deteriorated, the temperature characteristic of a display device is stable, whose reliability is high. SOLUTION: An illuminator 8, a light valve 9, and a projecting lens are arranged inside a cabinet 1, the projecting lens is arranged along the bottom surface of the cabinet 1, and the illuminator 8 is arranged between the side surface of the cabinet 1 and the outside of the outermost side surface of an image luminous flux 12 toward a screen 3 from a fourth reflecting mirror 7. A partitioning plate 15 is set between the outermost side surface of the image luminous flux 12 and the illuminator 8. An intake fan 16 is provided on the bottom surface of the cabinet 1, air introduced inside the cabinet 1 from the fan 16 is guided in the height direction of the cabinet 1, and discharged from the front surface of the cabinet 1 by a ventilating fan 17. |
