Anti-locking control procedure for cars

An anti-locking control procedure for cars is described which is executed when a car travels on a road surface with different friction coefficients, where one of the wheels on an axle rolls with a high coefficient and the other with a lower coefficient. Anti-locking control begins when the brake is operated, the wheel on the road surface with the lower coefficient has an excessive slip in a first cycle of the anti-lock control, and a specified condition is fulfilled. The procedure has the following steps: (1) progressive reduction of hydraulic brake pressure for the wheel on the road surface with the higher friction coefficient in each period, while the time interval for enforced pressure reduction is changed; and (2) after the pressure reduction with the presence of a further specified condition, the start of gradual reduction of the hydraulic brake pressure for the wheel on the road surface with the higher friction coefficient. This allows effective use of the surface and insufficient retardation of the car is eliminated.
