FINGER INPUT POINTER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared finger input pointer device which performs pointer control only by means of moving a finger without bringing the finger into contact with a pad. SOLUTION: In an infrared finger input pointer device, a pad 2 where light- emitting elements 3 and light-receiving elements 4 are provided on the surface of a keyboard 1 is provided. Groups of light-receiving elements 4 arranged in up/down/right/left directions of light-emitting elements 3 are arranged in the directions of an x-axis and a y-axis. A time difference detector calculating a pulse interval from a signal received by the light-receiving element 4, a coordinate axis converter converting the time difference into the position coordinate of a finger 5 and a picture control circuit controlling the pointer in a CRT screen from the output of the coordinate axis converter are provided.
