<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image improving device having a filter for improving the sharpness of an original image according to a sharpening parameter. SOLUTION: A sharpening filter 16 improves the sharpness of an original image according to a sharpening parameter. A sharpening parameter selection system 11 is connected to the filter 16. The system 11 determines the sharpening parameter of the filter 16 so that the frequency distribution of an image obtained by sharpening the original image by the filter 16 is similar to the frequency distribution of the original image of which resolution is reduced.</p> |
