Vehicle door hinge with braking and holding function

The hinge consists of a first half attached to the door and a second half attached to the vehicle. Both halves are pivotally connected together via a pin. The pin seats in bores in the two hinge halves. The pin is sealed at both ends where it sits in the bores against moisture. The seals are made by axially stresses sealing elements, or are alternatively built into the inner wall of the bores.
