PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for automatically generating a program for design standard check with which a program for design standard check can be generated/corrected in a short time through a comparatively simple method and errors in debugging can be reduced. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a graphic data input means 11 for inputting graphic data for check while automatically generating a program for design standard check of computer aided design(CAD) devices 2-1 to 2-n for layout certification to check pattern design data of a semiconductor device, a feastue describing means 12 for describing features corresponding to the standard of a graphic as check items on the inputted graphic data for check, a feature extracting means 13 for extracting the feature for which the features described on the graphic data for check are selected and summarized, and a program generating means 14 for automatically converting the selected and summarized features to the program for the CAD devices 2-1 to 2-n for layout certification.
