PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue a conference even when communication is deteriorated by controlling the format of video data and voice data according to the state of a communication line and continuing the reproduction of only the voice data. SOLUTION: When recognizing the state deterioration of a communication line 14, a data controller 10 gives a command to a compressor 6 so as to change the format of picture data. The compression device 6 changes the format of the picture data to that of a low transferring rate based on the command and continues the compression. When the state of the line 14 is further deteriorated and the countermeasure becomes impossible by changing the format of the picture data, the controller 10 gives a command to the compression device 6 to stop the compression processing of the picture data. Then, the compression device 6 stops the compression of the picture data and makes receiving and delivering the picture data not carry out to a multiplexer 8. Then, the multiplexer 8 receives only the voice data from the compression device 6 and delivers communication data prepared by the received voice data to a transmission data buffer 11. |
