<p>The rail cutter consists of a motor unit (16) which drives a rotary cutting wheel (25) and a support (15) which guides the wheel towards the rail (2), articulated to a rail-gripping vice (7). The cutting wheel is mounted on one end of a carrier arm (27), the other end of which is pivoted to the motor unit about an axis (24) lying parallel to the axis of the vice's articulation and the lengthwise axis of the rail. The motor unit is connected permanently to the vice by a non-reversible coupling which ensures that it is always on the same side of the cutting wheel with regard to the vice.</p> |
