Method for producing a print forme

A method is disclosed for producing a print forme 2 on a forme cylinder 1 using the laser image-application process, where the method also operates reliably with large forme cylinders 1 and high laser outputs. The method includes the following steps: - mounting a hollow foil body 3 on the forme 2 or forme cylinder 1, either by applying a ready-formed hose or by wrapping the forme with a foil sheet; - producing an image on the forme by transferring surface elements of the foil hose 3 by way of heating using a laser beam, and - removing the foil body 3 from the forme cylinder 1. The cylindrical foil body avoids the need to unwind and rewind long foil strips.
