PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calcining a honeycomb molded product, inhibiting the generation of cracks causing the breakage of the honeycomb sintered product, and to provide a ceramic vessel used therefor. SOLUTION: In this method for calcining a honeycomb molded product by charging ceramic powder into a ceramic vessel in which the honeycomb molded product is placed in a posture upwardly directing the porous surface, and subsequently calcining the buried honeycomb molded product, characteristics comprise calcining the buried honeycomb molded product, while supplying the ceramic powder from the storage portion 7 of the ceramic vessel 6 so that the upper end porous surface of the honeycomb molded product 2 buried in the ceramic powder 3 is arranged on approximately the same surface as the upper surface of the ceramic powder. |
