PURPOSE:To easily form an inter-substrate spacing and to enable beautiful color display by providing a light shielding film and color filters even to the peripheral part on the outer side of a display part where electrode groups face each other and make display. CONSTITUTION:The color filters 3 are provided to the picture element parts 2 of the display part 1 where the electrode groups faces each other and make display; in addition, the light shielding films 4 are provided between the picture elements. The same light shielding film 6 as the light shielding films provided between the picture elements of the display part 1 is provided over the entire surface to the peripheral part 5 on the outer side of the display part 1. The color filters 7 which are the same color filters as the color filters 3 in the picture element parts 2 of th4e display part 1 and has the area of 50-100% of the area of the color filters 3 in the picture element parts 2 of the display part are provided. The uniform inter-substrate spacing is thereby easily maintained even if said spacing is of a large area. The color display having the high display grade is thus obtd. |
