PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effect positional control accurately by applying a drive signal having an even number of steps to a stepping motor thereby moving an object between moving points. SOLUTION: Rotational angle per step of a stepping motor 101 is fixed but fluctuates and the rotational angle increases over or decreases under a design for every step. Deviation from the design value is substantially constant when the rotational angle increases over the design value and when it decreases under the design value. An error is left after an object 104 is moved by an odd number of steps but the error is canceled when the object 104 is moved by an even number of steps. When the target positions X0 , X1 , X2 , X3 ,... of the driving object 104 are set at such positions as the stepping motor 101 arrives when it is moved by an even number of steps, the stepping motor 101 is controlled with an even number of steps. Consequently, the object can be positioned accurately. |
