PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projection type video device provided with a projection type screen by which stray light and unwanted reflected light are reduced inside a projection optical system, and light generated by the reflection of the external light is reduced, and whose contrast is excellent. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a single projecting lens, a Fresnel lens sheet, and a lenticular lens sheet in which such a light shielding member as stripe is provided on an area where light does not pass trough when the light passing through the Fresnel lens sheet and made incident is emitted. When an incident angle (deg) to the lenticular lens sheet is expressed asθ, the total light transitivity (%) of the lenticular lens sheet with respect to the light with the incident angleθis expressed as Tt(θ), and light transmission loss by light absorbing agent included in the lenticular lens sheet is expressed asα; at the central part of this lenticular lens sheet as shown in figures (b) and (c), Tt(θ)>70×(1-α) in the case of|θ|=5, and Tt(θ)<50×(1-α) in the cased of|θ|=20 are satisfied.
