摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in the productivity and the reliability of the communication processing unit caused by a design change in the case of revising a capacity of a mount memory. SOLUTION: A data communication equipment 21 sends/receives a data signal by using a PHS terminal 23 based on the PIAFS. Just after application of power to the communication processing unit 25, a maximum frame number decision device 32 decides an initial value of a maximum frame number based on a capacity of a memory device 39 detected by a memory capacity detector 31. A communication controller 34 uses the initial value of the maximum frame number decided by the maximum frame number decision device 32 in the negotiation sequence of a communication parameter with an opposite data communication equipment to decide the maximum frame number to be used by the data communication. Thus, even when a capacity of the memory device 39 is revised, it is not required to change the design of other parts of the communication processing unit 25.
