Blood sample package

The sterile packages (2), for blood samples, are wrapped and vacuum-packed separately in a film shell (6) of a material impermeable to air, as a hermetic sealing. The film shell (6) has a weakened zone (7) for the blood sample package to be taken manually or mechanically. The film shell (6) has a removable toothed or studded section (7a) at the sealing (8), with grip tabs (9,10) to tear the film shell (6) apart and create an opening to remove the package (2). The film shell (2) has a weakened line, pref. near the closure plug (5), covered by a thin metal foil, as a hermetic seal, which can be parted. The tube (3) of the two-part blood package (2) and the closure plug are of a plastics material. A number of hermetically sealed and welded blood packages (2) can be assembled within a larger pack, with a packaging film, as a parcel for mailing. The blood packages are fed separately to a wrapping station, where they are sealed within film shells from a web of film material.
