PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the object of a prepositional phrase even when an input sentence is not compatible with concurrence data in a concurrence dictionary in processing for eliminating ambiguity in a prepositional phrase. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an object discriminating part 4 for using an evaluation function (Q) containing concurrence data (vi+n) between a verb and a noun and concurrence data (vi+pp) between a verb and a prepositional phrase provided by retrieving a concurrence dictionary 5 concerning any arbitrary verb vi for evaluating a relation from a prepositional phrase pp to a verb (v) as parameters for input data (v), (n) and pp, and also using an evaluation function (R) containing concurrence data (v+Nj) between the verb and the noun and concurrence data (Nj+pp) between the noun and the prepositional phrase provided by retrieving the concurrence dictionary concerning any arbitrary noun Nj for evaluating the relation from the prepositional phrase pp to the noun (n) as parameters. |
