PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nitrogen-containing ceramic composite material having excellent mechanical processability, thermal impact resistance and molten metal corrosion resistance and further having high fracture strength and temperature strength. SOLUTION: A nitrogen ceramic composite material in which fine hexagonal boron nitride having particle diameters of <=80 nm are homogeneously dispersed in an amount of 5-40 vol.% at least in the crystal particles of aluminum nitride matrices, in an amount of 25-45 vol.% at least in crystal particles of silicon nitride matrices and in an amount of 20-45 vol.% at least in the crystal particles of sialon matrices. The method for producing the nitrogen-containing ceramic composite material comprises mixing aluminum nitride powder with urea and boric acid in amounts of 14-52 wt.% and 7-27 wt.%, respectively, based on the amount of the aluminum nitride powder, reducing the mixture in hydrogen atmosphere at 700-1100 deg.C, thermally treating the reduced mixture powder in nitrogen atmosphere at 1400-155 deg.C, mixing the thermally treated mixture powder with a sintering auxiliary in an amount of 2-7 wt.% based on the amount of the mixture powder, and subsequently sintering the mixture powder in nitrogen atmosphere at >=1650 deg.C. |
