Methods of forming fastener assemblies

Multiple adhesive fasteners are made from a continuous substrate web (140) running in a machine direction (132) with laterally opposed side edges (142,144) across the machine direction (134). A prim. adhesive layer (54) is applied to the face surface (180) of the substrate. Long stiffening webs (154, 156) are attached close to the edges to form a composite substrate (192). The web is then sepd. along a line (158) to form opposed pairs of fastener tab subassemblies (194, 196).
