Generator for supplying loads in wiring system of cars

A generator has a claw pole machine with double-wired stator winding for AC with subsequent full-wave rectification and two slip rings for passing the excitation voltage to the rotor winding. At least two galvanically separated stator windings are provided. For them, at least two full-wave rectifiers for the generated system voltage are present. The excitation voltage of the rotor winding is passed from at least two parallel controllers via the slip rings. The voltage controllers (1,2) are designed according to the fail-safe principle and are supplied redundantly from both part- networks. The exciter winding of the generator is controlled via its own brush pair which sits on the slip rings.
