The block cutting process involves the use of two saw blades (2) opposite each other in the parting plane and putting them in pendulum motion. They are offset so that their point of engagement with the stone block wanders from a point on the opposite outer surfaces t a point on the front side. The pendulum movements of the two saws are successive and offset in phase by 180 degrees . They are fitted to pivots (5) connected to a pendulum axis (3). The first pivot has a drive (7) and is coupled to the second one via a coupling axis (6).
