摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering unit for a vehicle that improves the deviation suppression performance under the effect of disturbances without holding or with lightly holding a steering wheel, enabling appropriate setting of steering force in normal turn, and not producing discomfort in steering in normal driving, at high speed in particular. SOLUTION: In this steering unit for a vehicle, the supplementary steering reaction torque is switched or gradually changed depending on the driver's steering condition, i.e., how much the driver is holding or operating a steering wheel, so that the proportion of supplementary steering reaction torqueαrelative to overall steering torque is changed. Thus, it is made possible to reduce the peak effect, for example, due to yaw resonance of the frequency response characteristic of yaw rate. This reduces the discomfort in steering due to the change in supplementary steering reaction torque near the resonance point. As a result, correct steering force and vehicle behavior suppression under the effect of disturbance are both made available at high level for the entire traveling speed range without sacrificing the steering feelings in normal driving.</p>
