Longitudinally corrugated medium (10) is conveyed between two rollers (19, 20) which apply liners (22, 24) simultaneously to opposite sides of the corrugated medium, adhesive having previously been applied either to the liners or to the crests of the corrugated medium, and the apparatus includes support fingers (30) carried by parts (32, 34) upstream of the rollers whereby the fingers extend into the flutes of the medium and support the crests of the medium while the rollers apply pressure to achieve adhesion between the liners and the medium. The medium (10) is corrugated longitudinally by being passed around a corrugating bar (17) formed with substantially V-sectioned grooves (18A, 18B) on two faces (18A, 18B) substantially at right angles to one another, the grooves in the two faces of the bar being staggered with respect to one another; the medium is arranged to pass along both faces in succession and, as a consequence of longitudinal tension in the web, is drawn into a corrugated shape. |
