The use of a catalyst containing a synthesised cross-linked phyllosilicate spaced with oxide-based pillars for the isomerisation of 5 - 10C normal paraffins. The cross-linked phyllosilicate 2:1 dioctahedric has an interlinkage distance of at least 2 nm and comprises oxide spacing pillars of elements from groups IVB, VB, VIB, VIII, IB, IIB, IIA, IVA or any combination, and at least one VIII element. An Independent claim is also included for the use of the catalyst. |
