PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the wiring of a propagation line. SOLUTION: The optical matrix switch is provided with six (1×3) type input port side optical switches 14, three (6×6) type submatrix switches 16 and six (3×1) type output port side optical switches 18. Each submatrix switch 16 is provided with two (3×2) type 1st optical switches 22 and two (2×3) type 2nd optical switches, three 1st optical switches 22 indivisually selected from all the three submatrix switches 16 are connected to each optical switch 14 by every three, all the 2nd optical switches 24 of each submatrix switch 16 are connected to each of the 1st optical switches 22 of the same submatrix switch 16, and three 2nd optical switches 24 individually selected from all the submatrix switches 16 are connected to each output port side optical switch 18 by every three.
