<p>The converter comprises a device (2,5) for separating and dephasing, receiving a monochromatic beam and producing from these N dephased light beams. N optical modulators providing phase or intensity modulation (5a-5b, M1-M4) are provided to receive the dephased light beams as well as N electrical control signals which have the same frequency and are phase shifted w.r.t. each other. These modulate the N beams under the control of the N signals. A combination device (8,C) is provided to combine the N beams after modulation, and provide a resultant light beam. The phase shifts of the N light beams and the phase shifts of the N control signals are chosen such that the resultant light beam has an optical spectrum with harmonics annulled, and corresponding to a propagation of the resultant beam with fluctuations in power.</p> |
