PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor and method for image processing which performs a processing for lighting from a light source through a simplified arithmetic processing for some area of a polygon. SOLUTION: A Z value of a polygon positioned on the inner side of a viewpoint about a pixel in a lighting polygon and a Z value of a position on the front side are stored in a couple of lighting memories 30 and 32. When a drawing polygon is processed, it is determined whether or not each pixel is positioned in a lighting object by using the Z values in the lighting memories 30 and 32. When the pixel of the drawing polygon is positioned in the lighting object, its luminance value is increased and image data such as color data is stored in a pixel memory 26. The pixel memory 26 is stored with image data of pixels of one frame and an image is displayed on a display screen. |
