Equipment is proposed to add carbon dioxide safely to a soft drink, held in a bottle of any size, and to dispense the drink. The equipment comprises the following features: Central opening (1), discharge pipe (5), gas inlet pipe (6), stepped opening (7), valve chamber (8), chamber opening (9), immersed pipe stub (23), all located in the device head (3). The stepped opening (7) contains the gas-valve (14) and associated items, such as washer (15), needle (16), rubber cylinder (17) and tightener ring (18). The valve chamber (8) contains the stop valve (10) and its seals, such as the rubber pad (11) and O-ring (O1) as well as the compression spring (12) and regulator screw (13). These items and the valve lifting arm are all arranged to provide automatic over-pressure control, and controlled discharge. The immersed pipe stub (23) carries the immersed pipe (22), sealed against the stub by O-ring (O2) and tightener (24). With this arrangement a single immersed pipe (22) will fit all sizes of bottles (1). The device head (3) can be screwed onto the neck of the plastic bottle, while the stop valve (10) in the head will ensure safe operation. |
