PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress color appearance difference due to the lightness change of a high contrast part in performing color reproduction area conversion by compressing lightness difference with an achromatic color high contrast point in a narrow color reproduction area as reference and compressing or expanding saturation in each lightness value in a compressed color reproduction area. SOLUTION: A color signal converting means 12 converts an RGB signal that is inputted externally into CIELAB color space that is equal color space. Next, a color reproducing means 13 compares lightness in an achromatic color axis with a color reproduction area due to a signal of an image that is converted by a conversion table 17 and a color reproduction area 20 which is acquired from a printer profile 18 of a reproduced system and gets difference LL of a lightness area. The means 13 compresses through a higher order function by using the lightness difference LL with a high contrast point of the color reproduction area of the reproduced system as reference. Next, saturation in each lightness value is compressed or expanded in a compressed color reproduction area. |
