PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PWM inverter which uses DC voltage at a high rate, higher harmonic wave components of lower orders of the output AC voltage being suppressed. SOLUTION: A controller 3 of a power inverter 2 which transforms DC power to AC power is equipped with a phase shift applying means 32 which applies a specified phase shift to each of first phases, which are the ones at the points of intersection between a sine wave signal wave and a chopping wave carrier wave which swings in a positive and a negative direction; and a switching signal generating means 31 which generates a switching signal at each of second phases which are the ones obtained by adding the specified phase shifts to the first phases. |
