The auxiliary answerphone circuit may be used with the loudspeaker silent to avoid interruptions. The telephone filtering system for use with a telephone and answering machine includes an additional answering service annexed to the main answering circuits. This additional service is activated in response to a control (1) which serves to de-activate the ringing tone and the loudspeaker. This additional service includes an answerphone response message which is distinct from that offered by the main service, and it is followed by a sound signal indicating the possibility of recording a message in digital memory or on an analogue system (4). The re-activation of the ringing tone and the loudspeaker is controlled by the use of a signal code whilst the additional answering service is processing a call.
