The device has a front and back compactor feet driven in opposed phase by eccentric drive. For regulating the movement direction of the feet, the phase angle between the eccentric pieces drives the eccentric drive, is modified by an adjustable coupling having a planetary gearing with angularly adjustable satellite carriers. The device is designed to be fitted to a soil compacting tool driven by an eccentric drive. The device has: - two compacting feet arranged one behind the other; - the eccentric drive has two double lever type eccentric swinging arms (12a, 12b), from the middle of which the lever movement is respectively transmitted to a compactor foot; - each of the arms (12a, 12b) is hinged by its first end to a first eccentric hubs (26a, 26b) and by its second end to a second eccentric hub (28a, 28b). The first two eccentric hubs (26a, 26b) as well as the second two are respectively shifted by 180 degrees from each other; - the first eccentric hubs (26a, 26b) are angular adjustable with respect to the second eccentric hubs (28a, 28b).
