<p>1485339 Track changing FUNAI ELECTRIC CO Ltd 18 July 1975 [18 Oct 1974] 30268/75 Heading G5R In a track changing arrangement for a cartridge tape recorder the power for shifting the magnetic heads is derived from the tape drive capstan. Heads 12 are mounted on a platform 19 which is urged by spring 42 along shaft 23 to engage a cam follower screw 41 with the usual stepped cam 40. The cam 40 forms part of a rotary body 24 which rotates on shaft 23 and includes a circumferentially grooved portion 30 with groove 32 and pairs of teeth 33, 34 extending from opposite walls of the groove which co-operate with a pin 35 attached to armature 37 of track switching solenoid 36. The body 24 also includes a part circular cam 27 mounted on resilient arms 28 which can be driven by roller 25 mounted on capstan shaft 11 except when the roller is disposed in one of the cam recesses 26. With solenoid 36 de-energized the rotary body 24 is held by pin 35 engaging a tooth 33 in the grooved portion with drive roller 25 disposed in one of the recesses 26. On the solenoid receiving a track change pulse signal the pin is released from the tooth member and a flat spring 29 which is the held position of the body engages the side of a recess 26 urges the body into initial rotation to bring the circular part of cam 27 into engagement with the drive roller 25. If the solenoid releases before the body rotates through 90 degrees pin 35 moves upwards and is engaged by the next tooth 33 to hold the body with roller 25 rotating in the next recess, if release does not occur the body is held by the pin being engaged by tooth 34 until the solenoid releases it into engagement with pin 33. During the 90 degree rotation the heads 12 are moved by cam 40 to the next channel. After a complete rotation of the body 24 a projection 60 thereon engages a leg of member 59 to switch off the player. Contacts 48, 49 rotate with the body 24 and coact with a printed wiring plate 43 to selectively activate channel indication lamps (not shown).</p> |
