A detergent hair care compsn. contains, in (a) a cosmetically acceptable medium, (b) a washing base, (c) a cationic polymer and (d) a water-sol. or -dispersible silicone deriv. comprising a main siliconised chain onto which is grafted an anionic hydrocarbon gp.. Use of a siliconised deriv. to improve the styling effect of a detergent hair-care compsn. contg. a cationic polymer is claimed.
