PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimming and glowing apparatus capable of dimming a high voltage discharge lamp. SOLUTION: In a glowing apparatus of a high voltage discharge tube comprising an electric power circuit 2, an inverter circuit 3, a control circuit 4, and a high voltage discharge tube 5 connected with output terminals T1, T2 of the inverter circuit 3, a current detecting circuit 6 is connected with the electric power circuit 2 and the inverter circuit 3. Feedback diodes D5, D6 connected with the output terminals T1, T2 of the inverter circuit 3 are connected with the electric power circuit 2 side of the current detecting circuit 6 and based on the D.C. current value detected by the current detecting circuit 6, the inverter circuit 3 is controlled to dim the high voltage discharge tube 5. |
