<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput of a traffic arrival interval for turning the sum of a valid cell number at the output position of an output cell buffer for a high priority class and the valid cell number at the output position of the output cell buffer for a low priority class to be less than an output highway number. SOLUTION: The sum N1+N2 of the valid cell number N1 at the output position of the output cell buffers 3-1 to 3-n for the high priority class and the valid cell number N2 at the output position of the output cell buffers 6-1 to 6-n for the low priority class and the output highway total number (n) are compared in a read control part 10. In the case that N1+N2 exceeds (n), a quality class multiplex part 9 outputs contents read from the output buffers for the high priority class. In the case that N1+N2 is less than (n), the cell of the low priority class is overwritten at the part of the free cell of information L1 for indicating a highway number and the cell of the high priority class and the cell of the low priority class are multiplexed and outputted.</p> |
